I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and identities who face various forms of oppression, racism and those who struggle with family dynamics. Hence I know how important it is to ground any therapeutic work in an understanding of how systems impact our daily lives.
Over the years, I have helped clients dealing with many complex lived experiences, including anxiety, depression, personal and collective grief, loss, fertility issues, challenging family dynamics, low self-esteem and self-worth and existential concerns. I have also supported people who are searching for a purpose in their lives.

Counselling, also known as therapy or psychotherapy, is a collaborative process between you and a counsellor that uses different modalities to help you change how you think, feel, and behave. It is a process in which you come to know yourself better. You become more aware of your patterns, values, root causes, hidden beliefs, feelings, or obstacles to change. Counselling provides a safe, confidential, supportive, non-judgmental, and inclusive environment for exploration and growth.

This question is difficult to answer as it depends on you and what you need. In the beginning, clients come in weekly to build trust and a therapeutic relationship. When clients feel like they have made progress, they come in bi-weekly. Some clients will check in monthly or as needed.

In British Columbia, Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are regulated by The College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC).
RMTs are health care professionals committed to restoring optimal health and helping you achieve pain-free function of your body.
They are educated and trained to accurately assess and treat with techniques that include massage and manual therapy, joint mobilization, hydrotherapy, and rehabilitative exercises such as stretching, strengthening, postural exercise and patient education.

Massage Therapy is an effective approach to pain management and rehabilitation. It can treat a wide range of conditions such as headaches, sports injuries, body pain, increase circulation and conditions due to soft tissue and joint dysfunction.
Registered Massage Therapy has seen an increase in the public interest as it is a non-surgical and drug-free treatment option.

In British Columbia, RMTs are amongst the most educated and highly trained in the world. Students complete at least 3,000 hours of training at an accredited college. RMTs have comprehensive training in subjects such as anatomy, pathology, kinesiology and physiology.
They are also trained in manual skills, orthopedics, hydrotherapy and patient education.
